Race Program & Sign Roster

Members,

As discussed at the recent planning meeting, it has become apparent that a sign roster needed to be introduced for both the Criterium and Road season.

The signs are the main part of our legal obligation regarding safety while racing, without these signs, we do not comply with Police or NSW Cycling regulations. The importance of this cannot be stressed enough.

It is also important that as club members we all pitch in and take our turn ensuring that the signs are put out, and put out correctly. At the bottom of this email there is a map, showing the correct location for all signs and witches hats. It is vital that these signs are placed in these positions for us to comply with all the relevant regulations, and to ensure that we can get our race approvals through in the future.

The roster has been done in alphabetical order, and it is up to each individual member to ensure they are available to put out the signs on their allotted day, or organise to swap with someone else. It is also Important to note, that the committee has decided that if signs are not out correctly, racing will not be run.

This Roster runs up until Christmas, and when the winter race program is confirmed i will get the revised roster with all dates and locations out for everybody.

This Map shows the Goddards Lane Circuit, and the position of signs. It is important that the Road Closed signs are installed on an angle and do not stick out past the cones and obstruct traffic.

On Goodards Lane there is a 'line' down the road where tar meets tar.  This is the line that the witches hats must sit on.  In the past riders have moved the witches hats out to make the racing circuit wider.   Doing this makes us non compliant with the Police approvals.  The witches hats must be placed on this line.  During The Road Season,' CYCLE RACE IN PROGRESS' signs must be displayed at the extremities of the course, and at any intersections along the race route.

If you have any questions, please call either Kevin Bartlett or Mitch Carrington.

Cheers
